The City of Coquitlam is currently recruiting for a two-year temporary full time Building Technician to join our team of professionals in the Civic Lands & Facilities Department. This is a CUPE 386 position.
Working autonomously and exercising independent judgment, you will assist in the administration of small renovation projects/asset renewals, including preparing contract documents, coordinating work on the projects, expediting materials and following-up on project progress. Excellent customer service and communication is required, as you will be dealing with service contracts and contractors on a daily basis.
Your considerable knowledge of the above functions is founded on a post-secondary 2-year diploma in Construction Management (or similar) and extensive building construction, contract management and material expediting experience, as well as some drafting training. You are fully conversant with building construction methods, materials and costs, and legislation regarding construction contracts.
