(Commencing Immediately Until February 2020)OPEN TO THE PUBLICLocation Community Hospital / Western Hospital: The Registered Radiation Technologist cross trained in Laboratory assists with patient diagnosis and treatment by performing a variety of standard radiological examinations on patients using stationary and portable x-ray and ancillary equipment; and performs basic ECGs. The Radiation Technologist also performs a variety of basic laboratory procedures in the areas of biochemistry, haematology, serology, urinalysis and venipuncture i.e., as a Laboratory Technician; assumes basic administrative responsibilities related to the conduct of laboratory and radiological procedures; ensures that all individual functions comply with the policy of universal precautions; and performs other related and allied duties which contribute to the orderly and efficientBi-Weekly Hours: 37.5 hours bi-weekly / 3.75, 7.5, 11.25 hr Shifts / Rotating Days, Evenings and Week-ends, Call-Back and Stand-by required
Minimum Qualifications: - Applicants must have successful completion of a formal program of study in Radiation Technology which is recognized by the employer; and have current registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiology Technologists.- Successful completion of a program of study in Basic Laboratory Procedures which is recognized by the employer; and- The successful applicant must have a good previous work and attendance record. - The successful applicant must provide a satisfactory criminal records check prior to beginning employment.Applicants are expected to complete the full length of this assignment unless appointed to a permanent position Preference will be given to qualified internal Health PEI IUOE, Local 942, applicantsPlease Note: Please ensure the application clearly demonstrates how you meet the noted qualifications as applicants will be screened based on the information provided.
