The Paddle Station, and our Paddle Station Crew will help our paddlers jump on and off the river where are Paddle stations are.

Our locations are strategically placed alongside the Bow River so our paddlers have a variety of options for where to begin, and where to end. Booking is done on-site, or online.

POSITION: Rafting Guide (Part Time turning into Full-Time positions in July)

At the Paddle Station, we are dedicated to providing an exciting and unforgettable experience for our Paddlers and Paddle Station Crew. Working as a member of the Paddle Station Crew Team is a thrilling way to start or further a career in Recreation, Physical Education, Travel and Tourism, or Hospitality. As the main contact for equipment rentals, you will be responsible for processing payments, assisting paddlers with rental agreements, and ensuring the safety and comfort of our customers at all times. The perfect candidate for this role is a dynamic person who is physically fit, self-motivated, flexible, professional, and possesses exceptional customer service skills. If you have a passion for recreation and the outdoors and want to gain valuable experience, this is the role for you!

Our Tour Guides will have interaction with almost every guest before and after their rafting experience, so they must be self-motivated, fun, and able to work alone as well as in a team environment. Some of the duties are the same as that of the Paddle Crew (see Indeed.ca Crew posting), but will also giving them a guided tour from our Stations, explaining our waiver form and helping with check-ins, sharing local knowledge, taking photographs, assisting with emergency communications, and preparations for the trips.


  • Coordinate equipment rentals, i.e. kayaks, rafts and safety equipment
  • Assemble and provide kayaks, rafts and safety equipment to paddlers
  • Clearly communicate safe boating and equipment policies via a paddler Safety Talk
  • Assist paddlers in filling out rental agreements, processing of payments and waivers
  • Use app to interact with customers on iPad
  • Be a Brand Ambassador for The Paddle Station
  • Provide each customer with an exceptional experience by developing strong relationships and meeting customer needs
  • Ensure all safety equipment is included in every boat rental (i.e. Life vests, bailer, rope and paddle)
  • Monitor paddler activities getting in and out of the water to ensure safety compliance
  • Maintain proper inventory of all inventory/equipment throughout the trips.
  • Relocate vessels returned downstream to upstream Paddle Station sites.
  • Keep all rentals (i.e. kayaks, rafts, life vests, paddles) clean and in good working condition
  • Report any damages or wear and tear of all equipment.
  • Paddle Station site area clean up
  • Other duties as assigned by the Management.
  • Cheerleading and promotional activities

All Candidates Qualifications :

  • Minimum standard first aid and CPR certification,
  • Current 1st Aid Certificate
  • Excellent Customer Service skills and experience,
  • Physically fit and able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. (i.e. kayaks and rafts),
  • Motivated to work independently and as a member of a team,
  • Able to effectively multitask; must be organized and detail oriented,
  • Neat and clean in appearance with an outgoing personality,
  • Ability to adapt and accept direction in a dynamic environment with changing demands.

Assets (nice to have) :

  • Wilderness first aid (40hr course)
  • The Interpretive Guides Association (MPHIA) certified
  • Class 5 Drivers Licence
  • Interest in photography & tour guiding
  • Problem solver
  • Excellent hospitality, public relations and customer service skills
  • Enthusiastic, reliable and outgoing person that loves the outdoor
  • Swimming experience, lifeguard certification or water safety training is also considered an asset
