It has revenues of 1.6 billion euros and more than 4500 employees working in 34 countries around the world.Objective / Purpose of the Job Accept and record air or sea freight, cost estimation, contact with carriers and/or shippers, commercial transactions, arranging transport, service and maintain customers. Frequent and regular customer contact...Key Activities / Accountabilities Work according to the import/export process:o Receive pre-advice from agento Monitor and confirm arrival of freighto Pre-alert customer on upcoming shipmentso Coordinate with other departments/offices to respond to customer inquirieso Set up files based on pre-adviseo Arrange trucker and warehouse requirementso Receive documents from steamship line or shippero Break down and distribute into files and calculate chargeso Issue steamship release to warehouseo Invoice shipments according to client rateso Close file, pass invoiceso Responsible for customer contacts, follow up contacts per telephone/Emailo Regular work with invoices, calculations of profit split and commissions, tracking and correcting mistakes in supplier invoices and following all quality routineso Assure timely billing as per company policyo Work according to the project processo Interact with international clients providing excellent customer service supporto Escalate issues to next management level if requiredo Updated projects reports in timely fashion and identify exceptions & issueso Respond to e-mail and telephone requests in a timely mannero Contact shippers to gather documentation and shipment info, check documentation, coordinate shipments with help of overseas offices, send pre-alertso Follow SOPs and ensure internal GW network complies with themo Comply with corporate, regional, branch, and department policies and procedureso Any additional task or activity as requested by managementPERSON PROFILE Import/Export Coordinator Essential Educational and / or Training Qualifications & Certificates High school graduatePreferred Experience and Knowledge At least 5 years relevant working experience. Knowledge of sea freight industry and processes.Necessary Technical / Functional Skills Familiar with and well able to work within the import/export processKnows supplier conditions, deliver terms, Inco terms and purchasing conditionsKnows risk and insurance termsFamiliar with and able to work with the companys quality and environmental policiesStrong computer skillsExcellent communication skillsFinancial awarenessAble to manage own working time effectivelyStrong time management skills and ability to monitor & change priorities as required.Required Behavioural Competencies A sense of responsibility to take responsibility for ones own work, to inform the manager if problems arise, to inform the customer of defects and issues, to take responsibility for ones own learning, to be loyally responsible for business operations and to help each other in daily work activities.
