Job Description

Project Manager

As a Project Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered in-scope, on-time & on-budget. You will manage software development, data warehousing, and technical infrastructure projects across multi-disciplinary teams (internal and external). You should have strong communication and negotiation skills when dealing with external stakeholders.

You will create and track detailed project plans, manage schedules, resolve issues and risks, manage teams directly and indirectly, and communicate status and priorities through frequent updates to stakeholders

The successful candidate should have extensive experience managing and launching large-scale technology projects and be comfortable with business case analysis, business process documentation, requirements gathering, and all project management disciplines.

Position Accountabilities

Define, create and update detailed project schedules
Track and manage project milestones and delivery timelines
Track and report on project issues and risks
Track and report on project action items and decisions
Track and manage all project performance KPIs
Facilitate daily project status briefings
Set-up and maintain project status reports and dashboards
Manage project documentation and related deliverables
Be the agile evangelist within the organization, promoting agile principles and philosophy throughout the company
Work with technical team leads to optimize development plans, eliminate roadblocks, address resource constraints and foster continuous improvement.
You will work closely with Product Development, R&D, Parallel Computing and Web Development leads to groom and coordinate backlogs across multiple agile teams to deliver our SaaS product.
Working with technical team leads, you will work to protect the team from interruption and help ensure that team velocity is maintained.
As Project Manager, you will directly manage all aspects of the project life-cycle and work with matrix IT partners to oversee all SDLC phases of a project
Rigorously manage project scope to ensure client commitments are achieved within agreed upon scope, time, cost and quality parameters
Role Requirements

5-7 years of experience as a technical or development Project Manager, with strong knowledge of data warehousing
You have excellent written & verbal communication skills
Good understanding of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning concepts
You are adept at agile and waterfall methodologies and are experienced with using tools such as MS Project, Trello, Harvest and JIRA
You have previous work experience with agile technical teams focused on application or software development and are familiar with sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives
You have an excellent understanding of the retail industry as it relates to Merchandising, Marketing or Retail Operations business practices. Having experience in the financial services industry is also an asset
Youve used your expert-level experience with Microsoft Project to manage multiple projects across a shared resource pool
Demonstrated proficiency working with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint
University degree in a technical or quantitative discipline
Background in mathematics, statistics, or data science
PMP and/or agile certification is preferred
Experience working in a BI/DW environment a plus
