Purpose of the Role
The Translator-Revisor, Linguistic Services shall translate various internal (non-billable) documents from all BLG offices.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
Translate, from English to French, press releases, brochures, stories for the intranet, thought leadership pieces, legal newsletters, technology advisories, various tip sheets, bios, letters, proposals, internal policies, course descriptions provided by BLG, internal communications and presentations, etc.
Revise, in French and, from time to time, in English, texts produced by members of the firm, fellow translators or collaborators from translation agencies.
Carry out terminology research.
Assist in updating the terminology database.
Maintain strong working relationships with in-house stakeholders, translation firms and colleagues.
Perform any other related duties as assigned by the team manager.
Bachelor's degree in translation
A minimum of 7 years of experience, including 2 as revisor, preferably in a professional services environment
Advanced language skills in both French and English
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Good working knowledge of translation tools, especially LogiTerm
Strong team spirit and excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
Interest in terminology research
Ability to meet deadlines, particularly short turnarounds, in a fast-paced environment
Legal education is an asset
Ability to perform well under pressure
Strong attention to detail
